Domestic Floor Screeding

The ideal properties of a domestic floor screeding is a solution that is easy and fast to install, saving you valuable time on site. A product that is based on Cement and therefore has none of the concerns inherent with other flowing screeds, will require no special measures before applying the adhesives or floor finishes. So you can get the job done quicker without having to wait around for the screed to dry.

Tailored

The flowing properties of Cemfloor’s domestic floor screeding make it the ideal solution for the domestic floor market. It is simple to use alongside various floor coverings and has a high thermal performance when combined with under floor heating. And as an added bonus, a Cemfloor domestic screed would only need to be a minimum 35mm thickness for domestic application. This is what makes it a relatively quick drying screed when compared to other flowing or “ordinary” screed materials. Read one of our Cemfloor Domestic Case Studies now.

Screed For Underfloor Heating

Underfloor heating has grown in popularity in recent years, this may take the form of electric heating cables or warm water pipework. It is becoming increasingly common for a screed to either contain or overlay an underfloor heating system.

Supporting Your Project

Underfloor heating brings its own set of challenges to the floor screeding process, mainly due to the heating pipes and cables which must be sufficiently covered. Almost invariably these screeds will be floating due to the need for there to be a layer of insulation under the heating system.

Supporting Your Project

In general, the screed would be installed as any other floating screed but it is likely that the inclusion of the heating system will necessitate a higher thickness. Often this will be defined as a minimum “cover” to pipework for example.

Supporting Your Project

But this doesn’t mean your underfloor heating screed needs to be unnecessarily thick or slow to dry. Cemfloor domestic screeding is extremely responsive to underfloor heating due to the fact that it can be laid in very thin sections to minimise drying times to 24-48 hours.
